Senior Immigration Compliance Officer (Engagement Monitoring)

The Role

As a Senior Immigration Compliance Officer (Engagement Monitoring), you will play a key role in supporting the University’s international student recruitment by delivering expert immigration advice and ensuring full compliance with immigration regulations. You will be responsible for leading the management and analysis of student attendance data and overseeing daily engagement monitoring activities for students on the Student Route Visa.

This position is vital to maintaining our obligations as a Student Route Visa sponsor and ensuring an excellent experience for our international students. The role sits within the Immigration Compliance Services Team, part of the Global Engagement department.

About You

  • We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented individual with strong organisational and communication skills. You should be able to demonstrate:
  • In-depth knowledge of UK Immigration Rules and Home Office guidance relating to the Student Route Visa.
  • Experience in delivering high-quality immigration and compliance advice to international students.
  • Familiarity with Home Office engagement monitoring requirements and attendance tracking systems/processes.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications and the Home Office Sponsor Management System.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, building effective relationships with a range of stakeholders.

Essential Qualification:

  • Degree-level qualification or equivalent professional experience.

Desirable:

  • A postgraduate qualification in a discipline relevant to higher education.

The Immigration Compliance Services Team, within the Global Engagement department, ensures the University complies with its responsibilities as a Student Route Visa sponsor. We provide advice and guidance to international applicants and students, supporting their academic journey and enhancing their overall experience at the University of Northampton.
