About the Role
We are seeking a Lecturer in Electrical and Electronic Engineering to join the School of Engineering at UWE Bristol on a permanent, full-time basis. This is an exciting opportunity to shape innovative, multidisciplinary teaching and contribute to impactful research and knowledge exchange activities.
You will play a key role in designing and delivering forward-thinking modules in Electrical and Electronic Engineering and in supporting student development through mentorship and practical engagement. The post will also allow you to advance your research, particularly in collaboration with our Sensing and Instrumentation research team, contributing to ongoing projects and future proposals with senior academic support.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and inclusive teaching across core Electrical and Electronic Engineering subjects
- Develop and enhance modules in areas such as Communications, RF and Microwave Technologies, Signal Integrity, Software-Defined Radio, Power Electronics, Electrical Machines, Power Generation, and AI applications in Electrical Engineering
- Supervise and support undergraduate and postgraduate students
- Contribute to collaborative research projects and external partnerships
- Engage with industry and professional bodies to align academic activity with sector needs
- Participate in knowledge exchange and public engagement initiatives
About You
We are looking for a candidate with a diverse skill set, capable of guiding students through both foundational and advanced topics in Electrical and Electronic Engineering. Experience in industry or collaboration with the Electrical and Electronics sectors is highly valued.
You should have:
- A PhD (or near completion) in a relevant field, ideally with academic teaching experience
- OR, if applying from an industry/professional background, a degree-level qualification with demonstrable expertise in Electrical, Electronics, or RF/Microwave Engineering
- Evidence of continued professional development
- A teaching qualification and experience in higher education (desirable)
