JOB DESCRIPTION

Night Nurse

We are one of the major not-for-profit care providers in the UK, specialising in providing high-quality, person-centered care to older people in care homes and extra care housing across the country.

At OSJCT, we care about our residents and each other. That means you’ll have plenty of opportunities for advancement while working for a growing company. Because we are a non-profit trust, we invest every penny we make in the people who live in our houses as well as those who work here. This translates into higher-quality care and gorgeous residences for our residents, as well as competitive compensation and excellent training and development opportunities for our employees.

We deliver exceptional care by collaborating with prominent experts in dementia and senior care. And we’re now modernising our care home portfolio by restoring existing homes as well as moving into new, inspirational, contemporary houses.

As we expand nationally, we need more people with the appropriate combination of talents, passion, and desire to help us grow even more.

Paternoster House, located in a peaceful corner of the attractive Cotswold town of Cirencester, is a well-established care home that provides residential care and 24-hour nursing support to 40 residents.

Bank Night Nurse

Location: Paternoster House in Cirencester, Gloucestershire.

Pay rate: £21.36 per hour (Mon-Fri) and £22.36 per hour (Weekend).

Contracted hours: Flexible.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

Are you a Registered Nurse who enjoys making a meaningful and positive difference in the lives of elderly people?

Are you qualified with a current NMC pin?

Our care teams make a significant difference every day, and your professionalism, warmth, and compassion will be central to everything you do. At times, you may be the only nurse on duty, and you will be in charge of leading and managing the care team to ensure that high nursing and personal care standards are fulfilled, as well as providing clinical leadership and advice as needed. You will deliver, monitor, and re-evaluate care needs in collaboration with each resident, their main carers, family members, and the home’s overall team, as well as efficiently communicating with GPs, hospitals, and external organisations.

The work is extremely gratifying, and you will be presented with a variety of clinical situations to help you build your talents and pursue your professional goals, all in a supportive, engaging, and rewarding atmosphere.

If these shifts and hours do not work for you, we can also offer casual hours that allow you to be flexible and maintain a work-life balance. Simply tell us what you’re looking for when you apply.

Paternoster House is located in the heart of the Cotswolds, in the market town of Cirencester, and provides compassionate and high-quality nursing, residential, and respite care to 40 residents.

AND IN RETURN

The rewards for our nurses are excellent. Our roles provide greater flexibility in working hours, more autonomy in decision making, and the ability to develop deep relationships with the residents in your care through consultative, case-management responsibilities.

The Trust is a fantastic place to work; we’ve been providing care for nearly 1,000 years and are today the second largest not-for-profit provider in the UK. We are not-for-profit, which means we reinvest every penny we make in our residents, colleagues, and the care homes where we live and work. As a result, we provide a wide range of advantages, such as a competitive pay and opportunities for growth. As a valued member of our team, you will also enjoy the following benefits:

  • Weekend wages are higher.
  • Fully funded renewal of your NMC PIN.
  • Payment of the Tier 2 Certificate of Sponsorship application cost for qualified nurses
  • A company pension
  • Free uniform
  • Free DBS
  • Access to our Employee Assistance Programme.
  • Refer a Friend programme rewards you up to £1000 for each referral you make who successfully begins working for us.
  • Blue Light Card and “My Rewards” scheme give savings on shopping, days out, restaurants, and much more.

ABOUT YOU.

You will be a qualified Registered General Nurse or Registered Mental Health Nurse who is currently registered with the NMC. You will have post-registration experience, be able to demonstrate continued professional development activities, and be comfortable working independently. You will have a clear awareness of regulatory frameworks, as well as experience or willingness to train in:

  • Medication Administration
  • Catheterisation
  • End-of-Life Care
  • Verification of Death
  • Syringe Drivers
  • Gastrostomy Care
  • Venepuncture
  • Diabetic Awareness
  • Tissue viability
  • Epilepsy Awareness
  • Management of deterioration: sepsis awareness.

You will be a positive role model, with strong communication skills and an innate ability to foster positive workplace relationships. As a helpful leader, you will inspire your team to consistently provide the greatest care to our residents.

If you believe you have the necessary abilities and attitude to provide the best possible care for our patients as a Registered Nurse in one of our care homes, you might be the next to join us. So, apply and begin your career with us immediately.
