EPCC, located at the University of Edinburgh, is the UK’s top supercomputing and data analytics centre. We are looking for a Data Architect to act as the technical lead in leveraging the capabilities of the Edinburgh International Data Facility (our AI and Data Science infrastructure) to ensure that the provision meets the needs of our high-profile academic, public-sector, and commercial clients. As a result, people with strong communication and collaboration skills are in high demand. You must be technically proficient in analysis, design, and software engineering in C/C++, Java, or Python. You will have a track record of successful project completions, as well as a strong analytical and intellectual curiosity. You will be an expert in job scheduling, resource sharing, and prioritisation, working with systems like Kubernetes and Slurm, GPUs, containerisation, and distributed filesystems. In-depth understanding of current technology trends in “big data,” including frameworks for advanced analytics, machine learning, and generative AI, is required.
