Role Overview
This role involves working across Heartlands, Good Hope, and Solihull hospitals as a Senior Support Pharmacist, participating in 9-month rotations across a variety of specialties including acute and general medicine, respiratory, infectious diseases, general surgery, nutrition, specialist surgery, and critical care. This offers an excellent opportunity to broaden your clinical experience.
We welcome applicants who may not meet the criteria in the person specification related to diploma status but who have at least 12 months of post-registration hospital experience. These applicants will be considered for a progressive position under Agenda for Change Annex 21 (payment at 75% of the maximum Band 7 pay). Upon completing the first year of a clinical diploma or NHSE/RPS Newly Qualified Pharmacist Pathway and 12 months of experience at Band 7, the applicant will be elevated to the starting pay of a Band 7 and will then progress to the independent prescribing course.

Person Specification
Qualifications
Essential:
Vocational Master’s degree in pharmacy (or equivalent qualification).
Membership of the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
Completion of the first year of a clinical diploma or NHSE/RPS Newly Qualified Pharmacist Pathway (or equivalent), evidenced by dated communication from HEI or signed-off NQPP documentation.
Willingness to work towards a non-medical prescribing qualification.
Experience
Essential:
Post-registration hospital pharmacy experience covering a range of specialties, or equivalent knowledge.
Experience working in multi-disciplinary teams.
Enthusiasm for delivering high-quality pharmaceutical care.
Experience in teaching or presenting to healthcare professionals and patients.
Commitment to Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
Knowledge of national initiatives and guidelines (e.g., NICE, NSF).
Ability to manage drug budget information.
Knowledge of hospital clinical pharmacy and current issues.
