The Opportunity:
The University of Glasgow is seeking a CaCHE Business Manager to oversee and coordinate the UK Collaborative Centre for Housing Evidence (CaCHE). Funded by the ESRC and AHRC, CaCHE was established in 2017 with the goal of advancing knowledge and understanding of the UK housing sector, while promoting evidence-based policy and practice.
This is a key role, working directly with the Centre’s Director to ensure the smooth and efficient delivery of CaCHE’s objectives and activities. The position involves managing a complex, multi-institutional research and knowledge exchange programme, overseeing a £2m budget, and coordinating projects, events, and initiatives across the eight member institutions of the CaCHE Consortium.
The postholder will be based at CaCHE, within the College of Social Sciences at the University of Glasgow, and will report to the Research Operations Manager as part of the College’s Management and Professional team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and support the day-to-day management and administration of CaCHE’s activities.
- Coordinate and manage the delivery of research projects, knowledge exchange initiatives, and events.
- Advise the CaCHE Director and work closely with partners across academia, government, and the third sector to achieve the Centre’s objectives.
- Manage the financial aspects of the Centre, including oversight of a £2m budget.
- Facilitate and support the strategic direction of the Centre’s multi-institutional programme.
About You:
- We are looking for an experienced and proactive individual with strong organizational, communication, and management skills. The ideal candidate will have:
- Proven experience in managing research and knowledge exchange programmes.
- Experience in budget management and financial oversight.
- Strong understanding of housing policy and evidence-based research.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, including academics, policymakers, and external partners.
Post Details:
- Full-time: 35 hours per week
- Fixed-term: until 31st October 2026
