Join Our Forward-Thinking Pre-Operative Assessment Unit
We’re looking for a dedicated individual to join our Pre-Operative Assessment Unit, where you’ll play a key role in working with a multidisciplinary clinical team to provide the highest standard of care for patients. Our patient-focused approach ensures we meet the specific needs of each individual during the pre-operative process, aiming to prevent last-minute surgery cancellations.
Please Note: We are unable to support applicants requiring OSCE, as the Trust has a separate and limited application process for such candidates.
Main Responsibilities:
- Conduct pre-operative assessments for a diverse range of adult patients scheduled for orthopaedic surgery.
- Ensure optimal use of resources and ensure all team members comply with local protocols, including infection control, manual handling, health and safety, patient advocacy, and quality service delivery.
- Proactively identify potential issues and needs before they arise, developing patient-specific action plans to ensure smooth pathways prior to admission.
- Provide expert technical knowledge in physically assessing patients before surgery and anaesthesia.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to deliver high standards of patient-centered care.
- Deputise for the Unit Manager in their absence when required.
