Job Title: Social Worker – Family Hub
Salary: PO1 – PO3 £37,035 – £44,711
Hours: 1 x Permanent, 18.5 hours per week | 1 x Temporary, 37 hours per week

About the Role:
As a Social Worker at one of our 7 Community Hubs, you will play a pivotal role in supporting children and families to identify and achieve their goals. You will form strong, trusting relationships and work closely with a wide range of multi-agency professionals to provide the best outcomes for families.
Your work will be grounded in the Leeds Practice Model, restorative approaches, and strength-based practices. Your ability to incorporate these into your practice will be crucial to your success.
We have two positions available:
1 full-time, temporary Social Worker role covering maternity leave (until June 2025) at the Horsforth Community Hub (37 hours per week)
1 permanent, part-time role within the Family Hub East Team at Deacon House (18.5 hours per week)
Secondments will be considered for existing Leeds City Council employees.

Job Purpose:
Under the guidance of a Team Manager, you will provide high-quality social work services to children, families, and carers, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and statutory guidelines. Your role will include managing a caseload, assessing risks, and developing support plans. You will also participate in co-working cases and contribute to service development.
You will be expected to maintain case records, produce reports, and, if needed, provide evidence in court. The role includes safeguarding responsibilities and collaborating with partner agencies to achieve positive outcomes for service users.
Responsibilities:
Assess the needs of children and families, identifying risks and implementing support plans.
Maintain up-to-date case notes and reports, and contribute to reviews of care plans.
Ensure compliance with safeguarding standards and carry out investigations where necessary.
Develop relationships with families and carers to improve outcomes.
Participate in multi-agency meetings, coordinate services, and provide professional advice.
Supervise students and contribute to team development and service innovation.
Qualifications:
Appropriate professional qualification (Degree, DipSW, CQSW, or equivalent).
Registration with Social Work England upon commencement and throughout employment.
Completion or progression towards Practice Educator Level 1 qualification.
Personal Specification:
Essential:
Experience in social work within statutory settings.
Ability to engage with families and communities effectively.
Knowledge of social work models, relevant legislation, and safeguarding.
Experience in case management, assessment, and report writing.
Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Commitment to continuous professional development.
Desirable:
Full current driving licence.
Experience working with diverse service user groups.
