About the Role

This is a valuable opportunity to join a supportive and compassionate Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) team in Hartlepool. The team works closely with children and young people experiencing moderate to severe mental health challenges, helping them and their families navigate difficult periods and move towards recovery.

You will become part of a small, dedicated team that values collaboration, kindness, and high-quality care. The role combines direct clinical work with young people and wider partnership working with families, carers, schools, and other professionals.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Manage your own caseload, carrying out assessments, care planning, and therapeutic interventions
    Deliver support through one-to-one sessions, group work, and community-based interventions
    Work collaboratively with families, carers, and external agencies to provide holistic care
    Contribute to safeguarding, risk assessment, and clinical decision-making
    Support and participate in multidisciplinary teamwork and service development
    Provide clinical supervision where appropriate and contribute to quality improvement initiatives

What We’re Looking For

Essential Requirements:

Current professional registration (e.g., nursing, social work, or allied health professional)
At least 18 months of post-qualification experience, including completion of preceptorship or competency framework
Evidence of ongoing professional development
Strong understanding of safeguarding, risk management, and relevant legislation
Experience working with children, young people, and families in a mental health setting
Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Understanding of evidence-based practice in CAMHS
    Familiarity with psychological models and therapeutic approaches
    Knowledge of frameworks such as care planning and clinical governance
    Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Working Environment

The team is based in central Hartlepool but delivers care across community settings. You will need to travel locally, so access to suitable transport is essential (reasonable adjustments can be considered under the Equality Act 2010).
