CPI is looking for two Process Support Operators to join the Operations team at its cutting-edge Medicines Manufacturing Innovation Centre (MMIC). The MMIC, based in Renfrewshire, is a cooperation between CPI, the University of Strathclyde, UK Research & Innovation, Scottish Enterprise, and initial business partners AstraZeneca and GSK.
Working day shifts Monday-Friday, you will provide operational support for the MMIC facility based on team and technology requirements. Typical responsibilities include warehouse activities, dispensary operations, plant and equipment cleaning, utility equipment operating (e.g., wastewater treatment), and other GMP-compliant jobs to ensure facility smooth operation. You will be supervised by your line manager and senior colleagues, assisting with various tasks to achieve technical targets and contribute to project completion.

To ensure that as activities are accomplished, all applicable paperwork is completed, and any issues, deviations, or opportunities for improvement are adequately indicated.
- Assist technical project workers with support requests and difficulties related to the technician’s area of responsibility (e.g., dispensing materials).
- The Process Support Operators are responsible for maintaining cleanliness and housekeeping within the facility’s operations envelope to prevent product contamination and maintain GMP standards. Technical, Engineering, and Quality staff assist as needed.
- Ensure material availability for production by booking in, sampling, moving, dispensing, and handling waste/final product.
- To conduct day-to-day operational activities in support of any project for which you are suitably certified and trained; for the avoidance of doubt, this could be on any project or piece of equipment of any size, subject to the preparatory training and safety inductions.
The individual we’re looking for
You must have experience working in a GMP warehouse and dispensary, as well as a minimum of Standard Grade in Maths and English.
Successful candidates must have relevant experience in a GMP environment and understand GMP principles. Additionally, the candidate has relevant expertise in a workplace with similar threats to the MMIC and can articulate them.
The ideal candidate will have actual understanding of plant operations, including ancillaries and warehousing, and can demonstrate compliance with SHE and quality requirements.
You will be able to display confidence in using your discretion and initiative in normal tasks, as well as a grasp of when to seek advice from supervisors or coworkers.
