Job Description

Job Title: Electrical Measuring and Test Equipment Technician

Job Summary: The role involves the repair, testing, and calibration of GE Caledonian Electrical Measuring and Test Equipment.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Conduct testing, minor repairs, and calibration of electrical measuring and test equipment.
  • Utilize both specialized and general-purpose test equipment to perform fault finding, repairs, testing, and calibration.
  • Maintain accurate records, ensuring timely filing.
  • Ensure that all work is completed with high levels of quality and cost efficiency, maintaining precision.
  • Participate in cross-training for other technical areas as needed to meet business requirements.
  • Adhere to all company health and safety, quality, and work practice procedures.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Integrate newly purchased test and measuring equipment into the Gauge Management System and, if necessary, develop calibration methods for these tools.
  • Review items calibrated externally upon receipt, ensuring adherence to company procedures.
  • Attend relevant training courses as required by the line manager.
  • Provide support beyond standard duties when necessary to ensure overall customer satisfaction within the calibration department.
  • Stay informed on and comply with all company quality procedures, particularly those directly related to the role.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards.
  • Continuously seek opportunities to improve operational processes and equipment, ensuring regulatory and technical excellence.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Recognized engineering apprenticeship in an electrical discipline, with relevant practical experience.
  • Experience in an aviation environment is desirable.
  • Working knowledge of measurement instrumentation is preferred.
  • Proficient with high-tech and measuring equipment.
  • Strong understanding of computer-based applications.
  • Demonstrates a high level of quality in completed tasks.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team to meet daily output requirements.
