Main Duties, Tasks & Skills Required
As part of the Cancer Services team, you will:
Oversee workflow in the Chemotherapy Satellite Pharmacy, ensuring key performance indicators (KPIs) are met.
Supervise training, health and safety protocols, and stock management processes.
Act as a role model to ensure the accurate, timely, and cost-effective dispensing of medication.
To excel in this role, you will have:
A nationally recognised Pharmacy Technician qualification and registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
An accredited accuracy checking qualification.
Significant experience in a hospital pharmacy setting.
Proven leadership abilities and experience in managing a busy team.
A flexible approach to work, including availability for evening, weekend, and bank holiday rotations.

Qualifications
Essential
Professional Registration with the GPhC.
Dispensing Accuracy Accreditation (West Midland’s scheme or equivalent).
Evidence of Continued Professional Development.
Accredited Checking Technician (National Framework) or equivalent.
One of the following:
Level 3 Diploma in Principles and Practice for Pharmacy Technicians
BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Pharmaceutical Science and Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Pharmacy Service Skills
Equivalent qualifications defined by the General Pharmaceutical Council.
Experience
Essential
Currently practising as a band 4 Pharmacy Technician or equivalent with post-qualification experience in an acute setting.
Demonstrated knowledge and relevant practical experience for this post.
Experience in the specialist function of your area of responsibility.
Significant experience working in a pharmacy setting.
Experience in organising and managing staff workloads.
Experience working to policies and procedures.
Experience in a hospital setting.
Deputising for senior personnel and managing daily workflow, including staff coordination.
Knowledge of Good Distribution Practice (GDP), Health and Safety at Work, COSHH, stock control, and supply processes.
Knowledge of medicines, side effects, and where to find further information.
Desirable
Experience in establishing new working practices or procedures.
Participation in staff training and development.
Experience managing other grades of staff.
Involvement in student technician training and mentorship.
Familiarity with the ward environment.
