About the Role
The School of Modern Languages and Cultures (SMLC) is seeking a Programmes Officer to provide high-quality administrative support for its programmes, including Undergraduate (UG), Postgraduate Taught (PGT), Postgraduate Research (PGR), and the Language Centre.
This role is based in the front student support office, a dynamic environment that involves both online and face-to-face interactions with students and staff.
As a Programmes Officer, your key responsibilities will include:
Module registration and timetabling
Assessments, examinations, and mitigating circumstances management
Handling student queries in a professional and supportive manner
Supporting student events, including open days, enrolment, and graduation
We welcome applications for part-time or flexible working arrangements, where operationally possible.
About You
We are looking for a highly organized individual with:
‘A’ Level qualification or equivalent experience
Significant administrative experience in a customer-focused environment
Strong IT skills and the ability to learn new systems quickly
Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with staff and students
The ability to prioritise a varied workload while working both independently and as part of a team
