Role Overview

This is a senior leadership position within the Faculty, working closely with the Dean and academic leadership team. The Director of Operations is responsible for ensuring that the Faculty’s operational infrastructure effectively supports its teaching, research, and strategic priorities.

The role focuses on aligning people, processes, and resources to enable high performance across all areas. It also involves leading professional services teams and contributing to wider institutional initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership for all professional services and operational functions within the Faculty
    Act as a senior advisor to the Dean on operational, financial, and organisational matters
    Ensure effective planning and management of resources to support academic delivery
    Lead and implement change initiatives that enhance efficiency and service quality
    Represent the Faculty in university-wide projects, committees, and decision-making forums
    Foster a collaborative and high-performing professional services culture

Candidate Profile

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • Extensive leadership experience in managing operations within a complex organisation
    Strong strategic thinking and the ability to translate vision into practical outcomes
    Proven success in leading change, improving systems, and delivering organisational transformation
    Excellent financial and resource management capabilities
    Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and engage diverse stakeholders
    A high level of education, ideally at postgraduate level or equivalent professional experience

Experience within higher education or a similar large-scale environment is highly desirable.
