About the Role
The University of Reading is looking for a highly organised and proactive individual to join its Executive and Governance Office, providing direct support to senior leaders within the Research and Innovation portfolio.
This is a central role within the university, where you will work closely with senior executives, including the Deputy Vice-Chancellor/Pro Vice-Chancellor (Research and Innovation) and Associate Pro Vice-Chancellors. You may also support the Vice-Chancellor when required.
You will become part of a close-knit and supportive team known for developing staff and offering strong opportunities for career progression.
What You’ll Be Doing
This role is varied and fast-paced, requiring strong organisational and communication skills. Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing complex diaries and schedules to support senior leaders’ priorities
Acting as a key point of contact for internal and external stakeholders
Preparing and coordinating documents, briefings, and correspondence
Handling email communications on behalf of senior staff
Providing committee support, including agenda preparation, minute-taking, and follow-up actions
Supporting university-wide events such as Open Days and graduation ceremonies
Collaborating with colleagues across the Executive Office to ensure consistent and resilient support
Taking initiative to assist other senior leaders when needed
Working Style & Flexibility
The role offers a blend of on-campus and flexible working options. You may work from home for part of the week, depending on business needs, while maintaining strong collaboration with your team.

- Proven experience in an administrative or executive support role

Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and collaboration tools
