The Role: Maintenance Team Leader
We’re looking for a Maintenance Team Leader to supervise and lead a team of 20+ Mechanics and Technicians in performing scheduled maintenance tasks, inspections, and defect rectifications.
What You’ll Do:
- Ensure the team complies with environmental, quality, health and safety, and housekeeping standards.
- Oversee individual and team activities to ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and company standards.
- Collaborate with the Shift Manager and support departments to meet departmental targets.
- Organise, allocate, and agree upon work schedules to meet agreed targets.
- Manage the team in line with policies, including disciplinary actions.
- Coach and manage individual performance, conducting regular one-to-ones.
- Focus on improving schedules and reducing aircraft downtimes.
- Provide technical leadership in team maintenance tasks.
- Sign off work upon completion within the scope of individual approval.
- Maintain effective communication across the organisation.
- Drive productivity and cost targets by improving tasks, processes, and the work environment.
What You’ll Bring to British Airways:
Skills and Capabilities:
- Strong technical decision-making abilities.

- Proficient in PC use and comfortable working with engineering systems and document management.
- Ability to work shifts and in confined spaces (e.g., fuel tanks).

Your Experience:
- UK CAA Pt66 B Licence.
- 3+ years of aircraft heavy maintenance experience.
- Base maintenance authorisations across all required aircraft types.
- Proven experience in leading teams in an aircraft maintenance environment.
Salary:
- £69,000 per annum + shift allowance: £4,163 (4×4 Days) or £8,741 (4×4 Nights).
