Supplier Quality Engineer Opportunities at Dowty Propellers (GE Aerospace)

As part of our ongoing expansion, Dowty Propellers, a GE Aerospace company, is excited to announce two new Supplier Quality Engineer positions at our state-of-the-art manufacturing site in Brockworth, Gloucester.

In this role, you will take ownership of ensuring quality for assigned suppliers, including implementing quality plans and managing supplier performance through qualification processes. You’ll drive continuous improvement by utilizing supplier scorecards, managing supplier audits, ensuring compliance, and implementing improvement plans that deliver real-time benefits to the business.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • This role combines Supplier Quality Assurance and Supplier Quality Development responsibilities. You will be involved in:
  • Supplier qualifications, action plans, audits, and performance monitoring.
  • Assisting key suppliers in achieving industrial excellence standards.
  • Working with a team to meet AS9100 standards in a complex team environment.

As a Supplier Quality Engineer, you will also:

  • Gain a solid understanding of business drivers and use this to achieve your goals.
  • Make decisions autonomously within defined frameworks.
  • Resolve issues by applying sound knowledge and judgment in accordance with established procedures.

Required Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Experience in Supplier Quality Engineering or Sourcing.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with customers and act as an interface between them and GE.
  • The ability to communicate complex technical information in a clear, accessible manner to internal stakeholders, customers, and suppliers.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably within automotive, aviation, defence, or aerospace sectors.
  • Experience working to AS9100 standards is essential.
  • Shop floor experience in a manufacturing environment is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of NADCAP and operating special processes is a plus.
