The Role:

As part of our rapidly evolving team, you’ll help us continue our journey of innovation. By leveraging our smart technology stack, we aim to transform the logistics experience. We match customer jobs to drivers’ availability to reduce waste, lower costs, and cut emissions. In the coming years, we plan to level up our platform, building even more tech to help us:

• Better understand job costs, allowing for more accurate pricing for customers.
• Foster deeper relationships with drivers, exploring new opportunities and improving workflows.
• For example, facilitating the buying and selling of non-AnyVan jobs between drivers to maximize their time.

We are an agile organization where engineering and product managers have the freedom to adapt processes to suit their teams. Senior engineers are involved in regular discussions with stakeholders from various backgrounds to deliver real business value.

Technologies We Use:

Cloud: AWS (Cloud-first approach)

Back-end: Java (with Spring) and Python

Front-end: JavaScript (using Vue.js)

Other: We’re exploring TypeScript for some projects and slowly migrating away from legacy PHP.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Troubleshoot and resolve complex software issues using our tech stack to scale and future-proof the business.

Deliver high-quality, production-ready code while adhering to best practices in agile development.

Collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to anticipate blockers, manage expectations, and solve problems.

Champion testing frameworks and suggest improvements to meet company quality goals more efficiently.

Mentor junior colleagues and help them grow their technical skills.

What We’re Looking For:

• Experience working with our tech stack or similar languages, with a desire to work in our environment.
• A genuine passion for delivering outstanding customer solutions with logical, maintainable code.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach when working with internal stakeholders.
• Understanding of web development practices, software architecture patterns, and infrastructure.
• Practical experience with continuous integration, continuous delivery, and quality assurance.
• A background in Agile development environments.
• A willingness to commute to our Central Business District offices at least 2-3 days a week.
