About the Role
This is an opportunity to join an innovative and expanding service focused on early intervention and prevention in children and young people’s mental health.
Working within Mental Health Support Teams—locally known as Peace of Mind Teams—you will deliver evidence-based support across schools and colleges. These teams are part of a national programme to improve access to mental health care for young people by integrating services within education settings.
You’ll play a key role in helping young people build resilience, manage emotional challenges, and access timely support in a familiar environment.
For candidates requiring sponsorship, this role may be eligible under the Skilled Worker route (subject to criteria)
What You’ll Be Doing
Your work will be divided across three core areas:
1. Whole-School Approach to Wellbeing
- Support schools and colleges to develop mental health policies and strategies
Contribute to wellbeing campaigns, assemblies, and PSHE programmes
Deliver staff training and awareness sessions
2. Advice & Consultation
- Provide guidance to teachers and education staff
Help build confidence in managing students’ emotional wellbeing
Offer both formal and informal support to school teams
3. Direct Clinical Work
- Carry out assessments with children and young people
Deliver low-intensity Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) interventions
Manage a caseload and maintain accurate clinical records

Essential Requirements
Qualifications
- Completion of an approved Education Mental Health Practitioner (EMHP) postgraduate qualification
Registration with a recognised professional body such as:
British Psychological Society (BPS)
British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP)
Professional regulation
Experience & Skills
- Experience supporting children and young people with emotional or mental health needs
Experience delivering low-intensity CBT interventions
Experience working within educational settings
Strong communication and report-writing skills
Ability to manage workload and prioritise effectively
Competence in risk assessment and therapeutic engagement
Good IT and administrative skills

Additional Information
- Travel across schools in the local area is essential (reasonable adjustments considered)
