Job Description
A Role with Real Ownership
If you’re a Veterinary Surgeon who enjoys surgery and wants more control over your clinical work, this opportunity at Medivet Whitchurch offers exactly that. The practice has recently been refurbished and is set up to support a vet who wants to take ownership of their caseload and develop their surgical strengths in a meaningful way.
This isn’t a heavily restricted role—you’ll have the space to make decisions, manage cases from start to finish, and shape how your clinical work evolves over time.
Why This Opportunity Stands Out
The role is particularly suited to someone with a strong surgical interest who wants:
- Greater independence in managing cases
The ability to build and grow a surgical caseload
Support for further qualifications and CPD
A team culture that encourages progression rather than limits it
You’ll be trusted to take the lead clinically, while still having the backing of a wider network when needed.
The Practice Environment
Medivet Whitchurch is a modern, well-equipped clinic designed to support both routine and more advanced procedures. Facilities include:
- Three consultation rooms
A large prep area and spacious operating theatre
Ultrasound and dental equipment
Separate waiting areas for cats and dogs
The practice is also conveniently located just a short walk from the train station, making commuting straightforward.
Your Responsibilities
In this role, your work will centre around both clinical care and case ownership. You’ll:
- Perform consultations and surgical procedures to a high professional standard
Manage cases from diagnosis through to recovery
Develop personalised treatment plans in collaboration with pet owners
Work closely with colleagues while maintaining clinical autonomy
Contribute to a positive, learning-focused team environment
Working Pattern
- 4 days per week
1 in 3 Saturdays
No out-of-hours commitments
This structure allows you to maintain a strong work-life balance while still developing your clinical expertise.
