Community Lead – Alex Wood House Care Home
As a Community Lead at Alex Wood House Care Home, you will oversee the daily leadership and management of our residential community, ensuring that our residents receive the highest standard of care in a safe and welcoming environment.
About Alex Wood House Care Home: Located in the peaceful area of Arbury, just three miles from the centre of Cambridge, Alex Wood House is a leading residential care home. Our home provides 24-hour residential care with 36 en-suite bedrooms, all designed to meet the needs of our residents in a comfortable and supportive environment.
About the Role: As Community Lead, you will be responsible for conducting clinical audits, managing medication safely, and supervising team members. You’ll lead by example, providing guidance and support to your team, and building trust with residents and their families to ensure a nurturing, safe, and positive environment for all.

Salary: £15.87 per hour
Shift Pattern: 45 hours per week, working 12-hour shifts on a rota basis, Monday to Sunday.
Home Location: Fortescue Road, Cambridge, England, CB4 2JS – 3 miles from the city centre.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the unit proactively, ensuring smooth daily operations.
- Complete monthly audits on medication management, pressure ulcer prevention, diet and hydration, and care planning.
- Oversee the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of residents’ care, using structured audits such as Resident of the Day.
- Conduct regular supervision for all team members in accordance with company policy.
Skills & Experience Required:
- A genuine passion for care, with a commitment to putting residents’ needs first.
- A minimum of two years of shift leadership and management experience.
- Proven ability to lead, support, and motivate a clinical team.
