What to Expect

You will work as a Maintenance Controls Engineer in the Paint Shop at Solihull, providing engineering support to improve production efficiencies, maintaining all connected plant equipment, and being responsible for first-line reaction to requests / issues with equipment / processes. Requirements include PLC and controls experience, as well as knowledge of Rockwell, Schneider, and motor control systems.

Key Accountability and Responsibilities

  • As part of the maintenance team, you will ensure safe and efficient manufacturing in accordance with the Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, People, and Environment framework.
  • Provide process expertise and guidance for Kaizen initiatives within integrated production and maintenance teams.
  • Apply lean manufacturing approaches to optimise the process and layout.
  • Manage the implementation of all process modifications and ensure that all associated documentation is updated.
  • Provide technical skills to the team problem-solving activity to accurately identify the root cause and corrective action.
  • Contribute to environmental measures to maintain standards, if needed.

 

What You’ll Need

Essential

  • Technical (mechanical and electrical) automobile engineering abilities acquired in manufacturing
  • Knowledge of PLC, Electrical Control, and Mechanical Systems
  • NVQ/BTEC Level 3 or comparable experience is preferred.
  • prior experience in a similar job in maintenance operations in manufacturing.
