JOB SUMMARY
As a qualified Mechanic, you will be needed to work within Manual restrictions and tolerances. In this profession, you will be expected to work as part of a skilled team on the assembly and disassembly of aircraft engines. Furthermore, the role requires committed individuals to help and continue to push improvements within your given region at GE Caledonian.
Essential Responsibilities
- Each function will operate within a team, thus the ability to collaborate well with others is crucial.
- The function entails working to specified manuals and engineering guidelines.
- Good hand skills from past expertise in an engineering subject.
- Practical or operational understanding of calibrated measurement equipment
- Ability to do complicated activities, such as disassembling and reassembling aero engine modules and/or components to set specifications (training will be provided).
- Role entails a rotating three shift pattern consisting of Nightshift, Backshift, and Dayshift.
- identifying and implementing process improvements.
- Identify and accept responsibility for quality, environmental health, and safety issues.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Must have completed a certified engineering or mechanical apprenticeship with related industry experience.
Desirable
- Relevant gas turbine engine overhaul experience
- Previous experience in the aviation setting would be desirable.
- Excellent comprehension and practical experience of computer-based applications
- Previous familiarity with SAP is beneficial.
- Previous experience with OEM shop manuals.
- Experience in a line maintenance environment.
- Excellent communication skills, ability to get along with coworkers, and express priorities as needed.
- Computer literate
- Demonstrate their ability to work as an effective team member, assuming responsibility and accountability for quality and EHS standards.
- Showcase personal drive and passion to find and implement process improvements.
- Demonstrate experience in a maintenance/overhaul environment and familiarity with materials processing.
- Showcase your skills to work from technical drawings/manuals.
- demonstrate good manual dexterity.
