JOB SUMMARY

The Moor to Sea Community Health and Social Care staff is looking for a part-time permanent social worker to join their busy, pleasant staff.

The profession mostly involves dealing with elderly persons, with occasional work with adults of working age as needed.

As a social worker, you will be responsible for conducting Section 42 safeguarding investigations, leading Mental Capacity Assessments, and overseeing Best Interest processes, including applications for community deprivation of liberties. You must be able to demonstrate a functional knowledge of the Care Act and the ability to operate in a strengths-based manner to assist individuals in achieving their eligible objectives and goals, as well as good risk assessment and management abilities. You will collaborate with Social Care Assessors, occupational therapists, and colleagues from the health and voluntary sectors to implement a multi-agency approach.

Moor to Sea spans a huge rural area that extends from the south of Dartmoor to Dartmouth and into Torbay, therefore you must be able to drive and have access to appropriate transport.

The team is based in Totnes Hospital, however in accordance with the DCC agile working strategy, there will be opportunities to work from home or other locations.

You will have access to frequent supervision and assistance, including group supervision, which will allow you to reflect on critical practice concerns such as theory in practice and research, as well as an emphasis on wellness. You will have access to a comprehensive intro.

“I would define our team as a community with common values such as curiosity, passion, dedication, and commitment to our work with people. We share similar talents, values, and perspectives, allowing us to walk with others as they seek their own answers and recognise their own strengths, assets, and skills.” – Moor to Sea Experienced Social Worker.
