As part of this ambition, we are expanding our Research and Enterprise operations, and we are seeking a motivated and skilled Research Funding and Development Officer to join our team.

This key position within the Research Services team will support the development and delivery of high-quality research proposals, aligned with the strategic aims of the university. You will take lead responsibility for supporting research activities within the College of Business and Social Sciences, while also working collaboratively across our academic Colleges.

About the Role

Reporting to the Research Funding Team, you will manage a portfolio of research development activities and contribute to securing external research funding. This role requires a proactive, knowledgeable individual who can navigate the complex research funding landscape and provide expert guidance to academics preparing funding applications.

We’re looking for someone with a strong background in research funding, proven experience in proposal development, and a deep understanding of UK and international research funding bodies.

Please note that the salary for this role is below the standard threshold for Skilled Worker visa sponsorship. However, Aston University may be able to sponsor candidates who meet any of the following conditions:

  • Are under the age of 26
  • Hold a relevant PhD
  • Previously held a Student or Graduate visa in the last two years
  • Are already in the UK with a valid Skilled Worker visa issued before 4 April 2024
