About the role

The University is seeking a Scholarships Manager to serve in the Admissions Office. You will be in charge of the day-to-day operations of the University’s central scholarships provision, as well as the enquiries team within Admissions.

You will play an important part in the promotion, application, selection, and allocation of the University’s principal taught scholarships (valued over £4 million per year). You will be active in the scholarship application evaluation process, including supervising any selection panels and providing thorough advice and direction to them.

Working with the Head of Scholarships, you will monitor allocations to ensure that scholarships are awarded in accordance with the intended numbers, that judgements are fair, and that the process is efficient and timely.

You will also ensure good engagement with receivers to improve conversion and, in collaboration with the Admissions enquiries team, contribute to an excellent applicant experience for all admissions enquiries.

The Admissions Office is a bustling, welcoming environment with a workforce of 40 people divided between Undergraduate Admissions, Postgraduate Admissions, and Scholarships. The Head of Admissions manages the entire Office’s operations.

About You

You must be well-organised, hard-working, and detail-oriented. You should be comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-pressure workplace with the expectation of meeting strict deadlines.

You will need great writing and verbal communication skills, as well as a strong desire to provide superior customer service. You should have prior experience working with people from all over the world, particularly those whose first language is not English.

You will have prior teamwork experience and demonstrated the ability to collaborate with others to reach a common goal. You should have previous line management experience or be able to demonstrate the abilities and aptitude required to be an effective manager.
