We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly skilled Senior Project Manager to join the Mathematical Theory of Radiation Transport: Nuclear Technology Frontiers (MaThRad) programme, a £7.3M initiative funded by the EPSRC.
This role is both broad and pivotal, carrying significant responsibility for the day-to-day delivery of MaThRad’s objectives while ensuring alignment with the programme’s long-term vision for growth and impact. The Senior Project Manager will enjoy considerable autonomy and will be expected to demonstrate strong personal initiative.
The Senior Project Manager will collaborate closely with the MaThRad Principal Investigator and serve as a key member of the Executive Team. Responsibilities include:
- Managing relationships with a diverse range of industrial, clinical, and academic partners.
- Overseeing internal and external communications, including website management.
- Coordinating the PDRA training programme and internship initiatives.
- Managing an extensive schedule of meetings, workshops, incoming and outgoing visits, and collaborative activities.
- Supporting efforts to secure additional grant funding, including PhD sponsorships.
- Handling financial oversight of both global and site-specific budgets.
The role will be supported by a part-time events organiser within the Department of Statistics.
We are open to considering applications for part-time or flexible working arrangements, even though the role is advertised as full-time, unless there are specific operational or objective reasons that prevent this.
About You
This is a fixed-term, full-time position (1.0 FTE) with a contract end date of 31 August 2027. The anticipated start date is 5th May 2025, or as soon as possible, to be agreed with the successful candidate.
