ABOUT THE ROLE:

The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for supporting the project in all elements of vehicle maintenance and overhaul, ensuring that safety, reliability, availability, and maintenance targets are met.

Your everyday responsibilities will include:

Delivery of the appropriate vehicle maintenance targets.

Ensure compliance with all protocols and procedures for providing maintenance services.

Critical assessment of the vehicle’s maintainability throughout the design process, as well as a review of maintenance plans.

Conduct maintainability demos during the validation process to discover any flaws in the maintenance documentation or design deficiencies.

Ongoing assessment of the maintenance programme to maintain maximum vehicle availability.

Review of depot interfaces and facilities to ensure they are compatible with the necessary repair activities.

Provide support and technical advice to the project for all maintenance tasks.

Updates to the maintenance manual suite.

Management of maintenance operations throughout the mobilisation period.

Management of the Overhaul Programme.

Conducting technical studies, condition assessments, and other related investigations to lengthen maintenance intervals.

Material usage is managed and monitored in accordance with the maintenance plan and budget, with monthly summary reports generated. Provide input for the business plan.

Regular auditing of maintenance activities.

Conduct CAF, maintainer, and client training.

Review of ECRs to identify the impact on maintenance documentation.

Monitoring National Incident Reports (NIRs) to determine their applicability to the fleet

ABOUT HOW MUCH WE PAY

As a Real Living Wage Employer, CAF is happy to offer competitive wages. The annual salary for this position is £60,000.

ABOUT YOU.

To excel in this role, you will require:

HNC/D or above in an engineering-related field.

Relevant auditing qualifications

Relevant training qualifications

Experience in a maintenance engineering position.

Ability to write technical reports to assist asset condition assessments.

PC literate and capable of swiftly learning new software programs.

Ability to learn new technology fast.

Experience leading projects.
