About the Safeguarding Triage Team
We are looking for an experienced Adult Social Worker to join our Safeguarding Triage Team within Adult Access.
This is a busy and varied service that provides an important first response to safeguarding concerns involving adults who may be at risk of abuse, neglect or harm. Working at this stage means your professional assessment and decisions can have an immediate effect on the support and protection available to individuals.
You will work in a collaborative team alongside experienced social care professionals and partner organisations. The environment is fast-paced, so you will need to be confident managing competing priorities, gathering relevant information and making sound professional decisions within appropriate timescales.
Hybrid working is available, while the role will also involve working from an office environment as required.
Key Responsibilities
As an Adult Social Worker within the Safeguarding Triage Team, you will:
– Respond to and assess safeguarding referrals involving adults who may be at risk.
– Identify levels of risk and determine the most appropriate response to each concern.
– Gather, analyse and share relevant information to support effective decision-making.
– Work closely with Adult Social Care colleagues and external partner agencies.
– Provide professional advice and guidance where appropriate.
– Develop, agree and review individual support plans in partnership with the people receiving services.
– Promote the safety, independence, wellbeing and rights of adults who require care and support.
– Manage a complex and varied caseload effectively.
– Maintain accurate records and ensure your work complies with relevant legislation, policies, procedures and professional standards.
– Exercise professional curiosity and sound judgement when assessing safeguarding concerns.
– Contribute positively to the reputation and effectiveness of Adult Social Care and Liverpool City Council.
What We’re Looking For
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Social Worker who has a strong understanding of adult safeguarding and social care practice.
You should be able to demonstrate:
– Experience working with adults who have care and support needs.
– A good understanding of safeguarding principles and risk assessment.
– The ability to manage complex cases and competing demands.
– Strong assessment, analytical and decision-making skills.
– Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
– Confidence working with colleagues and professionals from different agencies.
– The ability to remain organised and composed in a demanding environment.
– A commitment to person-centred practice and achieving positive outcomes.
– Professional integrity, resilience and a willingness to learn and develop.
