Assistant Community Services Manager – Bracknell Adult Community Mental Health Team

Are you a registered Social Worker with an AMHP qualification and experience in Community Mental Health teams (CMHTs)? Do you have strong leadership skills and a passion for driving service improvements in a dynamic, multidisciplinary environment? If so, we want to hear from you.

As our Assistant Community Services Manager, you will provide leadership and guidance across the team, participate in Safeguarding and Operational Management rotas, and deputise for the Service Manager in Health and Social Care activities. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a background in adult social services management who thrives in a fast-paced setting and is dedicated to delivering high-quality care.

You will be based in Bracknell, within our Community Mental Health Team, working as part of a joint initiative funded by both Health and Social Care.

About the Team

The Bracknell Adult Community Mental Health Team is a joint initiative managed and funded by Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust and Bracknell Forest Council. Our team provides essential support to adults experiencing significant mental illness and their carers, offering a range of interventions, including medication management and psychological therapies. We focus on delivering comprehensive, person-centred care and fulfilling statutory responsibilities under the Mental Health Act 1983, Mental Capacity Act 2005, and the Care Act 2014. We are committed to safeguarding vulnerable adults, ensuring their safety and wellbeing by proactively identifying and addressing risks.

Key Responsibilities

Assist the Service Manager with delegated responsibilities to contribute to the community mental health service for adults.

Provide professional supervision and guidance to staff, including recruitment, training, appraisals, and, when necessary, performance management.

Ensure that support arrangements are cost-effective before seeking approval, and ensure staff understand their financial management responsibilities.

Take responsibility for safeguarding investigations, acting as the decision maker when required.

Manage complaints as needed and verify assessments, authorising them where appropriate.
