About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to help shape the creative direction of the Attenborough Centre for the Creative Arts. As Artistic Programme Manager, you will take a leading role in designing and delivering a diverse programme of performances and events that resonate with a wide range of audiences, including students, local communities, and visiting participants.

Working closely with the Head of Cultural Programmes & Engagement, you will bring fresh ideas, develop partnerships, and curate artistic experiences that reflect both creative excellence and community relevance. You will also play a key role in strengthening the Centre’s external profile by building relationships with artists, organisations, and cultural networks.

Internally, you will collaborate with colleagues across the Library, Culture & Heritage Division and the wider University to support shared priorities—particularly those linked to civic engagement and public participation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver a high-quality, multi-disciplinary arts programme
    Build and maintain partnerships with artists, organisations, and cultural stakeholders
    Identify and develop new programming opportunities
    Manage all aspects of project delivery including scheduling, budgeting, and contracting
    Ensure productions are delivered efficiently from concept to completion
    Work collaboratively across departments to align programming with institutional goals
    Support audience development and engagement initiatives

About You

You are a creative professional with a strong track record in arts programming and production. You are equally comfortable developing artistic ideas and managing the practical details required to bring them to life.

You will bring:

  • Proven experience of producing or programming across multiple artforms
    Strong project management skills, including budgeting and scheduling
    The ability to build and sustain relationships with a wide range of stakeholders
    Experience working in venues, festivals, or higher education settings
    Excellent communication and organisational skills
    A proactive and collaborative approach to problem-solving

You will be confident balancing creative ambition with operational delivery, ensuring that projects are both innovative and well executed.

About the Division

The Library, Culture & Heritage Division brings together key cultural and knowledge services within the University. It includes the University Library, The Keep archive service, and the Attenborough Centre for the Creative Arts.
