Role Overview
This is a rewarding opportunity for an experienced and proactive professional to join a dedicated Safeguarding & Public Protection team within the Trust. The role focuses on strengthening safeguarding practices, contributing to multi-agency collaborations such as MARAC and MAPPA, and ensuring the safety and wellbeing of vulnerable individuals across services.
Working part-time, you will play a key role in supporting staff, promoting best practice, and ensuring safeguarding standards remain robust and responsive.
Key Responsibilities
Safeguarding Leadership & Support
- Provide expert advice and guidance to staff on safeguarding matters involving children, young people, and adults.
Promote a culture of vigilance and accountability across all services.
Ensure safeguarding concerns are identified early and managed effectively.
Training & Development
- Contribute to the design, delivery, and evaluation of safeguarding training programmes.
Support staff learning through coaching, supervision, and constructive feedback.
Multi-Agency Collaboration
- Work closely with external partners through frameworks such as MARAC and MAPPA.
Share information appropriately and contribute to joint decision-making processes.
Policy Implementation
- Apply Trust and multi-agency safeguarding procedures consistently.
Ensure compliance with national safeguarding standards and legal requirements.
Working Environment
You will be part of a supportive and collaborative safeguarding team that values innovation, shared learning, and staff wellbeing. The role involves working across multiple Trust sites, with flexibility around your main base.
Essential Requirements
Qualifications
- Current professional registration in health or social care.
Experience in delivering or supporting training (formal teaching qualification or equivalent experience).
Experience
- Strong background in safeguarding practice.
Experience advising and supporting clinical teams.
Skills
- Excellent communication skills across different settings and audiences.
Ability to manage workload independently and prioritise effectively.
Confidence in providing supervision and constructive feedback.
Knowledge
- Good understanding of safeguarding frameworks and responsibilities.
Desirable Criteria
- Advanced safeguarding training.
Experience in mental health or learning disability services.
Experience working within multi-agency settings.
Compliance & Checks
This role requires a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check due to the nature of safeguarding work.
