Overview of the Role
This is a rewarding opportunity for a Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) to join Birch Ward, a specialist inpatient service supporting adults with eating disorders. The team is looking for a compassionate and motivated individual who values teamwork, patient-centred care, and professional growth.

 Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will play an active part in supporting patients through their recovery journey by:
- Managing a small caseload of patients and acting as their named nurse
Delivering one-to-one therapeutic sessions and contributing to personalised care plans
Administering and monitoring medications safely
Supporting patients with nutritional care, including training in nasogastric feeding
Working closely with a multidisciplinary team (MDT) including psychologists, dietitians, and occupational therapists
Participating in ward rounds and MDT meetings to review patient progress
Building strong relationships with patients, families, and carers to support recovery

 Essential Requirements
Qualifications
- Registered with the Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC)
Willingness to work towards Practice Supervisor and Clinical Supervisor roles
Evidence of ongoing professional development
Experience
- Experience working with individuals with mental health needs or learning disabilities
Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team
Experience involving families and carers in care planning
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of key legislation
Knowledge of safeguarding practices
Skills in risk assessment and clinical decision-making
Ability to communicate effectively in sensitive situations
Strong organisational and time management skills
