Job Summary

Location: University of Warwick
Contract: Full-time (36.5 hours per week), Fixed-term until 30 November 2027

About the Role

We are seeking a Research Fellow to contribute to cutting-edge research in Power Electronics. This role involves conducting in-depth studies, collaborating with academic and industry experts, and shaping innovative methodologies in the field.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Performing comprehensive literature reviews and industry consultations to identify research opportunities.
  • Designing and facilitating workshops with industry and academic partners to develop a clear research programme.
  • Developing methodologies in converter design, device testing, PCB assembly, measurement and characterisation, and gate driver design.
  • Engaging with industry specialists and aligning research with international standards.
  • Managing procurement and subcontract support to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Publishing research findings in reputable journals and presenting at conferences.
  • Supporting training and knowledge-sharing activities with project partners.
  • Representing the university at national and international events.

About You

You will have:

  • A minimum 2:1 honours degree in a relevant field.
  • Strong experience in power electronics design, assembly, and testing.
  • A background in industrial R&D, particularly in the practical implementation of power electronics.
  • Experience in manufacturing process engineering for power electronic devices and systems.
  • Strong communication and training development skills.
  • Experience in collaborative research projects.
  • Proficiency in project planning, reporting, and data analysis.
  • The ability to work effectively within a team and adapt to new challenges.
