Job Description

About Us

Diamond Light Source is the UK’s national synchrotron, a state-of-the-art scientific facility designed to generate powerful beams of X-rays, infrared, and ultraviolet light. Our researchers use this intense light to explore a broad range of fields, from developing new medicines and treatments for diseases to advancing innovative engineering solutions and cutting-edge technologies.

As part of our ongoing efforts to stay at the forefront of science, we are currently undergoing a major upgrade, known as Diamond-II. This upgrade will combine a new machine and beamlines with improvements to optics, detectors, sample environments, and computing capabilities, ultimately providing a brighter, more powerful light source at higher energy.

Performing calculations and FEA (Finite Element Analysis), with guidance where necessary.

Assisting with equipment procurement from commercial suppliers.

We’ll consider your application for either the Design Engineer or Graduate Engineer level, depending on your skills, experience, and qualifications.
