Detailed job description with primary duties

Aim to become a subject matter expert on the trust’s data storage and protection technologies, making sure they are optimised for optimal performance and in compliance with manufacturer guidelines and best practices.

In charge of managing tickets in the Service Desk system, identifying and fixing issues in compliance with service level agreements, and reporting potential violations to the Principal Specialists

Will need to use discretion to address technical problems found through a variety of communication channels, such as emails, diagnostic monitoring alerts, and IT ServiceDesk, in addition to analysing infrastructure problem areas. Cooperation with staff members from managed or outside system providers as well as other Digital Services teams may be required for this.

Offer technical assistance to coworkers in the field of digital services, end users, members of the trust and non-trust, vendors, and satellite sites for other NHS organisations.

Take proactive environmental monitoring to guarantee that SLAs, availability, and uptime are maximised and in line with business RPOs and RTOs by implementing the appropriate interventions as indicated by Alerts, Dashboards, and other tools.

Send the Principal Systems Specialist monthly reports on the functionality and performance of the trust’s infrastructure systems, both clinical and non-clinical, so they may assess if they are meeting expectations and pinpoint any shortcomings.
