Arts Council England (ACE) is one of DCMS’ most important arm’s-length entities, serving as the development agency for the culture sector, which includes museums and libraries.

This is a high-profile position that requires strong collaboration with the Arts Council to deliver on Ministerial goals such as encouraging excellence, Levelling Up, and extending access to the culture sector for all in England.

In addition to overseeing the Arts Council’s delivery of Ministerial priorities, you will collaborate with ACE to address emergent policy challenges and foster constructive partnerships between ACE and other policy teams throughout the department.

We’re searching for someone that can work comfortably in many areas and is eager to help create capabilities where it’s needed. This is a fast-paced and high-profile subject that receives a lot of attention from leaders, thus the postholder must be comfortable working quickly, exercising their judgement independently, and working well across Whitehall and with senior stakeholders to develop and deliver policy.
