They need a Ground Segment Architect to support and strengthen the Ground Segment Team, bringing a breadth of technical experience and expertise to help the company advance its position in a rapidly evolving and dynamic market.

In this Ground Segment Architect post, you will collaborate directly with the Chief Engineer and take control of essential projects to ensure timely delivery and surpass expectations.

The Ground Segment Architect has the following responsibilities:

– Project Technical Decisions: Define and document multi-mission support ground segment design, including internal and external interfaces. Receive the Engineering Director’s delegation of power over technical decisions, and serve as the primary point of contact for technical enquiries that cannot be handled by the appropriate teams.

– Roadmap Ground Segment Development: Work with the ground segment group manager to establish the ground segment roadmap, with a focus on multi-mission support.

– Problem Resolution: Collaborate across engineering teams to ensure that problems are managed from identification to resolution. Help to handle technical issues as they emerge.

– Project and Technical Development Reviews: Oversee the technical development and implementation of assigned programs during relevant project reviews and provide guidance to teams as needed.

– Engineering Processes and Procedures: Collaborate with the Ground Segment Group Manager to assure the quality of engineering standards and procedures, including developing, mapping, and proposing processes.

Skills and Experience Required for the Ground Segment Architect:

– A master’s degree in engineering or a related profession.

– At least 10-15 years of experience in their field of competence.

– An experienced people manager.

– Extensive experience developing and designing ground segments and systems.

– Spacecraft-level experience as a systems architect.

– Previous experience working with businesses to deliver long-term, complicated projects and initiatives.
