CPI is seeking a Lab Technician in Wilton to provide technical support, including preparation, development, research, design, sampling, testing, and analysis, in accordance with team and technology requirements.

The Technician will support line managers and senior colleagues with various activities to achieve business unit objectives and contribute to project completion.

· Demonstrate our firm principles by establishing an ethical and positive culture.

• Stay current with role-related advancements, legal changes, and SHE-related changes reported by senior colleagues. Understand and apply new best practices, methods, and strategies.

• To ensure that the laboratory is equipped with the essential consumables, liaise with the warehouse as needed.

• Assist equipment owners and the asset engineering team in organising and documenting equipment maintenance, calibrations, and standard operating procedures.

• Assist Laboratory Safety Supervisors in maintaining a safe and healthy workplace by serving as the first point of contact for technical areas, conducting general housekeeping, and providing assistance as needed.

• Present and formally report experimental conclusions and accompanying data for internal peer review and client submission within agreed-upon deadlines and standards.

• Participate in hazard/SRA research and discussions, as appropriate for position level.

• Must provide fully documented records of technical data, decisions, procedures, calculations, and software use in an agreed-upon format.

• Take responsibility for agreeing on weekly work plans with the line manager, project manager(s), and other relevant stakeholders, as well as delivering the plan on time.

• Responsible for equipment calibration to assure safety, performance within specifications, and availability for customer demands.

The individual we’re looking for

Essential:

Educated to GSCE (or Level 2) in a scientific/engineering discipline with significant industrial experience, or to A-level (or Level 3) in a scientific/engineering discipline with relevant industrial experience, or to HNC (or Level 4) in a scientific/engineering discipline.

Will demonstrate a fundamental understanding of biotechnology ideas and techniques, as well as some relevant experience with practical, technical work achieved in academic or industry settings.

Capable of applying both theoretical and practical scientific/engineering methodologies to support microbiology-related commercial processes.

It’d be ideal if you also had:

Requirements include a qualifying certification (e.g., BSc/HNC/level 4) in life science disciplines like microbiology or biochemistry, as well as relevant laboratory experience.

Demonstrates practical knowledge of microbial growth and identification techniques.
