Location: Sunderland, UK
Salary: £30,060 – £32,654 per year
Contract: Permanent, 37 hours per week

Together for Children Sunderland, rated ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted (2021), is seeking a Housing Support Worker to join our Support to Independence Team. We are committed to improving the lives of young people and providing them with the skills needed to live independently and maintain their own tenancy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day support for young people in supported accommodation
  • Offer guidance on benefits, employment, and training opportunities
  • Act as a link worker, developing risk assessments and structured one-to-one support plans
  • Mentor and coach young people in independent living skills
  • Work flexibly, including some weekends, as part of a rota-based team

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience in housing support, social care, or a related field
  • Strong mentoring, coaching, and communication skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends
  • Passion for helping young people gain independence
  • Understanding of benefits, tenancy management, and support planning
