Role Overview
Looking for a practical, hands-on role where your work genuinely makes a difference? Join our Facilities Team as a Hotel Services Generic Assistant and help create a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
This is a varied role where no two days are the same. You’ll support essential services across the hospital, from cleaning and catering to portering and general housekeeping. Your contribution will play a vital part in ensuring high standards of care and patient experience.
Posts available: 2 x 14 hours per week (rota basis, Monday to Sunday)

What You’ll Be Doing
Cleaning & Housekeeping
- Carry out cleaning duties across wards, patient rooms, clinical areas, and communal spaces
Maintain high hygiene standards to ensure safe and comfortable environments
Portering Support
- Assist in moving equipment, supplies, linen, and patient belongings
Safely handle and dispose of clinical and domestic waste
Catering Assistance
- Support meal preparation and delivery to wards
Carry out food safety checks, including temperature monitoring
Compliance & Safety
- Follow infection prevention and control procedures
Work in line with national cleaning and hygiene standards
Training & Support
Full training will be provided, so you feel confident in all aspects of the role. You’ll be supported by an experienced and friendly team who will help you develop your skills and settle into the position.

Person Requirements
Essential
- Full UK driving licence
Basic literacy and numeracy skills (or willingness to develop)
Previous cleaning experience
Ability to organise and prioritise workload
Good communication skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Flexibility to work shifts
Desirable
- Basic Health & Safety qualification
NVQ in Cleaning or related field
Previous NHS experience
