About the Role
As a Registered Nurse within the Trust, you will play a vital role in delivering safe, compassionate, and effective care to adult patients undergoing elective, surveillance, and emergency procedures.
The role involves carrying out detailed pre-assessments, supporting patient preparation, and working closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure patients receive the best possible care outcomes.
You will assess patients’ physical, emotional, social, and wellbeing needs while helping identify any issues that can be addressed before treatment or procedures take place.
This position requires flexibility, with shifts covering days, nights, weekends, and rota-based working patterns.
Main Responsibilities
Key duties include:
- Delivering high-quality nursing care across medical and surgical services
Conducting patient-centred pre-assessments and care planning
Collaborating with patients, carers, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams
Supporting elective and emergency endoscopy pathways
Identifying and escalating clinical concerns where appropriate
Maintaining accurate clinical documentation and records
Mentoring and supporting junior colleagues and learners
Contributing to safe practice, clinical governance, and patient wellbeing initiatives
Candidate Requirements
Applicants should demonstrate:
- Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC)
A Degree in Nursing or equivalent recognised nursing qualification
Knowledge of clinical governance and patient safety principles
Experience or training in patient pre-assessment processes
Evidence of continuing professional development (CPD)
Understanding of current clinical pathways and specialty-specific care practices
Experience supporting or mentoring junior staff members
Strong teamwork, communication, and organisational skills
