About the Role
This position offers an opportunity to play a key role in shaping how medical students are assessed throughout their academic journey. As a Curriculum and Assessment Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring that examinations and assessment processes are delivered smoothly, accurately, and in line with academic standards.
Working closely with academic staff, clinical partners, and administrative colleagues, you will help coordinate the full lifecycle of assessments—from preparing exam content to supporting exam boards and managing results. Your work will directly contribute to maintaining fairness, consistency, and quality in medical education.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting the preparation, formatting, and quality assurance of exam materials
Coordinating written examinations and ensuring their successful delivery
Managing assessment data and maintaining accurate records
Acting as a central contact for students, staff, and external stakeholders
Providing guidance on assessment regulations, procedures, and deadlines
Supporting exam boards and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives

About You
You are a detail-oriented and proactive professional who can manage multiple tasks efficiently. You communicate clearly, work well both independently and as part of a team, and are confident using digital systems.
Essential qualities and experience:
- Strong organisational and planning skills
Excellent written communication and proofreading ability
Experience in exam administration or a similar structured process
Confidence using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
Familiarity with systems such as PebblePad, SITS, or equivalent
Ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism and confidentiality
Degree-level education or equivalent practical experience
Experience in a higher education or similar environment will be advantageous, especially during busy assessment periods where flexibility is required.
