This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and forward-thinking Consultant Rheumatologist to join Somerset NHS Foundation Trust. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality patient care while helping to develop and expand rheumatology services across the region.

 Role Overview
As a Consultant Rheumatologist, you will contribute to both clinical excellence and service innovation, working within a growing multidisciplinary team. The role spans outpatient, inpatient, and collaborative care across Somerset.
You will have the opportunity to influence how rheumatology services evolve, ensuring they remain responsive, effective, and patient-focused.
 Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialist diagnosis, treatment, and management for patients with rheumatological conditions
Lead and deliver outpatient clinics
Support inpatient care, including ward referrals and consultations
Collaborate closely with specialist nurses and multidisciplinary teams
Contribute to service development, quality improvement, and clinical leadership
Participate in on-call or cross-cover arrangements where required
Promote evidence-based practice and high standards of patient care
 Team & Working Environment

 Essential Requirements
- Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) with a licence to practise
Completion of CCST/CCT in Rheumatology (or within 6 months of completion)
Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP)

- Strong clinical expertise in rheumatology
Commitment to evidence-based practice and patient-centred care
Understanding of relevant UK healthcare frameworks and governance
Ability to contribute to teaching, training, and service development
