Role Overview
This is a leadership opportunity for someone who combines compassion with strong organisational skills. As the ADHD Team Manager within CAMHS, you will guide both the clinical and operational direction of the service.
You will oversee the full ADHD care pathway—ensuring children and young people receive timely, safe, and effective support from assessment through to treatment and follow-up. The role requires balancing people leadership, service performance, and quality improvement, while maintaining a supportive and inclusive team culture.

What You’ll Be Responsible For
Clinical & Service Leadership
Ensure high standards in ADHD assessment, diagnosis, and ongoing care
Support clinicians with complex cases, safeguarding concerns, and risk management
Promote a safe, therapeutic, and child-centred environment
Operational Management
- Oversee caseloads, referrals, and service demand
Manage staffing, rotas, and resource allocation
Lead on incidents, complaints, and service improvements
Use data insights to improve access, reduce waiting times, and optimise performance
Team Leadership & Development
- Provide supervision, mentoring, and performance management
Support recruitment, induction, and staff retention
Encourage reflective practice and continuous professional development
Build a positive and inclusive team culture focused on wellbeing
Partnership Working
- Work closely with schools, GPs, social care, and external partners
Represent the ADHD service in multi-agency meetings
Communicate clearly and sensitively with families and carers
Quality Improvement & Governance
- Lead audits and quality improvement initiatives
Ensure adherence to governance and information standards
Monitor service performance and drive improvements

What We’re Looking For
Essential Qualifications
- Professional registration in healthcare or social care
Master’s level qualification (or equivalent experience at Band 6+)
Training in clinical supervision
Recognised Practice Assessor/Supervisor status
Essential Experience
- Managing teams and leading staff
Working with complex cases, including high-risk situations
Delivering supervision and supporting professional development
Strong understanding of safeguarding practices:

Knowledge of clinical risk management and medicines management
Experience in partnership and multi-agency working
Desirable
- Understanding of psychological treatment models
Awareness of current healthcare challenges in CAMHS
Experience with research or quality improvement systems
