Job Description

Join Our Marketing & Campaigns Team at the University of Reading

The University of Reading is looking for a skilled and driven marketing professional to join our Marketing & Campaigns team. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real impact and become a valued member of a dynamic group of marketing and communications professionals.

About Us

The University of Reading is one of the UK’s leading research-intensive institutions, ranked among the top 250 universities globally. As we operate in an increasingly competitive and global market, it has never been more important for higher education institutions to attract students, staff, and research income.

To support our ambitious goals for student growth and academic development, we’re seeking a creative and forward-thinking individual to bring fresh ideas and experience to our Marketing & Campaigns team. This role will assist a Marketing Business Partner in delivering marketing and promotional initiatives across a portfolio of academic Schools and Departments. As a School Marketing Officer, you will play a key role in developing and executing impactful marketing strategies that elevate the visibility of your assigned Schools.

Who We’re Looking For

This role is ideal for a marketing professional with a relevant qualification or experience, who is eager to broaden their marketing expertise. While experience within the higher education sector is beneficial, it is not a requirement.

You’ll Have:

  • A good honours degree, relevant professional qualification (e.g. CIM), or substantial marketing experience.
  • Experience in implementing marketing strategies and communication plans that meet customer needs, using both traditional and digital channels.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft concise, engaging copy for diverse audiences.
  • A proactive approach to identifying marketing challenges and implementing solutions.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and challenge opinions when necessary.
  • A self-motivated, collaborative working style with the ability to work autonomously.
  • Exceptional time management skills and the ability to work under pressure.
  • A flexible and adaptable mindset in a fast-paced environment.
  • For more details, please refer to the job description and person specification.
