Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in Economics
Department of Economics, School of Philosophy, Politics, and Economics (SPPE)
Starting 1 September 2025

The Department of Economics at the University of Reading is seeking to appoint a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) to deliver both undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, and contribute to our dynamic research environment. The successful candidate will have teaching experience and a strong or emerging research track record in areas such as business economics or environmental economics.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver high-quality teaching in business economics and/or environmental economics at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

Contribute to the development of the Department’s teaching activities and research environment.

Engage in research with the potential for publication in top-tier academic journals.

Contribute to the development of the Department’s reputation in the fields of business economics or environmental economics.

Candidate Requirements:

A PhD in Economics or a related field.

A track record of publications in business economics or environmental economics, with evidence of future potential to publish regularly in high-ranking journals.

Demonstrated ability to teach a wide range of topics at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

Experience in teaching undergraduate microeconomics modules.
