Job Description
Join a Progressive High-Risk Obstetric Service in Somerset
Somerset NHS Foundation Trust is expanding its specialist maternity services and is seeking an experienced Consultant Obstetrician with a strong interest in Maternal Medicine and Fetal Care.
Based at Musgrove Park Hospital, this newly developed consultant role has been created to strengthen high-risk obstetric services and support the growth of a dedicated elective caesarean section pathway across the Trust.
This opportunity is ideal for a consultant who is passionate about delivering high-quality, patient-focused maternity care while contributing to service innovation, education, and multidisciplinary collaboration.
Unlike many consultant posts, this role is entirely obstetric-focused with no routine gynaecology commitments, allowing the successful candidate to fully concentrate on maternal medicine, fetal surveillance, and complex obstetric care.

You will play a leading role in:
- Managing high-risk pregnancies
Supporting fetal growth monitoring services
