Working within the highly respected Beacon Centre, you will become part of a collaborative multidisciplinary oncology team delivering compassionate, patient-focused care while gaining valuable clinical, research, and service development experience.
Role Overview
- Position: Oncology Clinical Fellow
Contract Type: Fixed-Term (12 Months)
Working Hours: Full-Time, 40 hours per week
Schedule: Monday to Friday
On-Call Duties: None
Expected Start Date: July 2026
Location: Taunton, Somerset, UK
Salary: £52,656 per year

Key Responsibilities
As part of the oncology department, the successful candidate will:
- Deliver high-quality inpatient oncology care on Beacon Ward
Support oncology consultants and multidisciplinary teams in managing complex cancer cases
Participate in service improvement initiatives, audits, and clinical governance activities
Assist with outpatient oncology services where appropriate
Dedicate protected time each week for project work and professional development
Provide cross-cover for colleagues during periods of leave or clinical demand
Maintain accurate clinical documentation and uphold patient safety standards
The role offers exposure to both acute and specialist oncology services within a supportive NHS environment.

Essential Requirements
Applicants should demonstrate:
- Full GMC registration with a current licence to practise
MBBS or equivalent recognised medical qualification
Previous oncology experience
Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams
Participation in clinical audit and quality improvement work
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Good organisational and leadership potential
Desirable experience includes publications, teaching activities, research involvement, and clinical governance projects.
