Tees Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a professional and approachable Administrator – Receptionist to become part of its welcoming front-of-house team based at Foxrush House in Redcar.

About the Role
As the first point of contact for the Community Mental Health Service, you will provide both reception and administrative support to ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of the service.
The role requires excellent communication skills, professionalism, empathy, and the ability to remain calm and organised within a busy clinical environment.
You will support individuals accessing mental health services, including people living with mental health conditions and neurodiverse needs, while maintaining a welcoming and respectful atmosphere at all times.
Main Responsibilities
Your duties may include:
- Greeting service users, carers, visitors, and staff in a professional and friendly manner
Managing incoming telephone calls and responding to email enquiries
Scheduling appointments and updating staff calendars
Preparing and sending appointment letters and correspondence
Maintaining visitor records and issuing access cards
Handling incoming and outgoing mail
Scanning, photocopying, and document management
Updating reception displays and public information materials
Supporting general office administration and data entry tasks
Maintaining confidentiality and information governance standards
Candidate Requirements
Essential Qualifications
BTEC Diploma/Level 2 qualification in a relevant subject, equivalent experience, or willingness to work towards a Level 3 qualification in Business Administration
GCSE Maths and English (Grade 4/C or above) or equivalent Level 2 literacy and numeracy qualification
Essential Experience & Skills
Applicants should demonstrate:
- Previous customer service experience
Experience carrying out general administrative or office duties
Data entry and record management skills
Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Understanding of confidentiality and professional standards
Ability to manage reception duties and communicate effectively with a wide range of people
The ideal candidate will be organised, approachable, and able to work effectively within a busy healthcare setting.
