Veterinary Surgeon (Cardiologist)UK Visa Sponsorship

Job Description

Shape Your Career Around Cardiology

If you’re a Veterinary Surgeon with a genuine interest in cardiology and want to grow that interest into a recognised clinical strength, this role at Medivet Orrell Park offers the right environment to do it.

Rather than being limited to routine work, you’ll have the freedom to build a cardiology caseload while still maintaining a varied general practice mix. The role is designed for someone who wants to gradually develop expertise, take ownership of their clinical direction, and become a key point of contact for cardiology within the practice.

What Makes This Role Different

This opportunity gives you space to grow in a focused way. You’ll be able to:

  • Develop cardiology skills alongside general practice work
Build and manage your own caseload over time
Play a role in shaping how cardiology services are delivered locally
Work closely with experienced colleagues for guidance and support

You won’t be working in isolation—there’s a strong network behind you, but you’ll still have the independence to develop your own clinical identity.

The Practice Environment

Medivet Orrell Park is a recently refurbished, well-equipped practice designed to support high-quality diagnostics and patient care. Facilities include:

  • Digital X-ray and ultrasound
    Dedicated laparoscopy suite
    Dental equipment
Access to a nearby 24-hour hospital for advanced imaging and complex cases

Through collaboration with a larger hospital, you’ll have access to more advanced tools and specialist support, helping you manage cardiology cases with greater depth and continuity.

Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities

In this role, you’ll combine clinical care with ongoing development. Your work will include:

  • Conducting consultations and managing both routine and complex cases
Building and developing a cardiology-focused caseload
Using diagnostic tools to investigate and monitor cardiac conditions
Creating personalised treatment plans for patients
Working closely with the Lead Vet and wider team
Contributing to the growth and direction of clinical services

Working Pattern

  • 4 days per week
    1 in 3 Saturdays
    No excessive out-of-hours commitment

This setup supports both career progression and a balanced lifestyle.
